<< Back to Table of Contents: “From Creating Art to Creating Income Too (2) - Marketing Tips for the Visual Artist”
Chapter: Introduction
This book, as with the previous edition, will focus primarily on the marketing and selling of two dimensional art. While many of the concepts and information will be helpful to three dimensional artists and crafters, some 3D topics such as reproduction methods for three dimensional artwork are not covered here.
A significant portion of the newer material focuses on the internet as a vehicle for the marketing of your artwork. Keep in mind that this area is evolving rapidly. If you are not yet comfortable with a computer, now is a great time to start! Begin surfing the internet and starting learning web terminology. You job isn’t to become a techno-wizard; your job is to become more comfortable speaking the language of the internet so you can become familiar with new marketing opportunities as they arise.
At the end of this book you will find a Resources chapter. While a casual search of the internet will yield hundreds of resources on these subjects, I have endeavored to list only well-established sources for materials, services and other information. In most cases, I use these sources myself, or they come to me as recommendations from trusted friends and associates.
